Shamwari was bought as foal as company for "Kookie" and as a future broodmare.  Her name  is Xhona for 'friend ' and is also the name of a game reserve in South Africa.


Her sire was a promising dressage stallion who was fatally injured whilst still young.  Shamwari is from his first and only crop of foals.
